Dear Reader,After four Michael Kelly novels, THE INNOCENCE GAME is my first stand-alone. It's about three students at Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism who dig into a death penalty case the Chicago PD would prefer remains buried.
I teach at Medill and the protagonists' voices come right from the classroom. As for the death penalty cases, they too are taken from real cases I've covered and men I've met on death row. For Kelly fans, the man himself does make a cameo. I won't give you the details, but at some point the kids need a man with a gun who knows how to use it.
