Dear Librarian,
EMPIRE RISING continues the sweeping epic begun in Dawn of Empire. Eskkar, an outcast warrior, struggles to rule mankind's first walled city (Akkad) together with his wife, Trella. Together they defeated a barbarian invasion, but a new danger has arisen from within. This time it's Eskkar scaling the city's walls to rescue his wife and liberate Akkad, both held hostage by the usurper Korthac.
EMPIRE RISING has been favorably compared to Outlander, Clan of the Cave Bear, Sarum, and Pompeii. John Lescroart: "A wonderful book... mesmerizing marvel of sheer storytelling prowess. I couldn't put it down." Diana Gabaldon: "... reminds me of Wilbur Smith at his best. Beautifully imagined and researched adventure, with terrific action!" Kirkus Reviews: "A Bronze Age historical romance with brains as well as brawn." Arizona Republic: "If Bernard Cornwell and Diana Gabaldon decided to collaborate ... the result would be something like this."
I'd enjoying discussing the book with you via phone, email ( EmpireRising@sambarone.com), or visit my website www.sambarone.com. Available for speaking or writing groups in the metro Phoenix/Tucson area.
