So I turned to eco-fiction. I learned that, every day, the Mississippi carries 400,000 tons of technological litter from forty-one states and three Canadian provinces. From this soup, what emerges in my story is the WATERMIND. The action unfolds at real sites, so after much reading, I explored Louisiana, talked to locals, climbed levees, listened to zydeco and tasted amazing foods.
