Dear Librarians,

I feel so humbled that Library Journal named Lion of Babylon one of the top six "Best Books of 2011" in Christian Fiction. When I was crafting the novel, I was repeatedly struck by how I had spent much of my life in preparation for this joyful task. During my earlier career in the business world, I traveled often to Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

I taught in Kenya last year, the first time I had been back to sub-Sahara Africa in almost 20 years.  Going back to Africa now, as a believer, has opened my eyes to many things and given me a new sense of compassion. I hope this comes across in my new story, RARE EARTH.
