Heather Summerhayes Cariou

Dear Librarian,

Growing up, books were my friends, and my downtown library was a place of refuge. My sister was dying from what she called Sixtyfive Roses (Cystic Fibrosis). The library was full of stories that comforted and inspired me.

Now, I've written my own book - SIXTYFIVE ROSES: A SISTER'S MEMOIR, the story of how we grew up in the shadow of a fatal illness and learned not to give up.

Described by readers as "lovely, funny, profoundly moving," and "beautifully written," many also say they couldn't put it down. Lyn Fraser of the Manitoba Library Association writes: "A good book is more than a good read. When a book can give you insight into the lives of others and allow you to understand their joys and pain, a book is an invaluable teacher. ...This book is a teacher...I highly recommend it."

Canadian libraries have waiting lists for SIXTYFIVE ROSES! Let's see if we can arrange an appearance in your area.

With warm regards,

Heather Summerhayes Cariou
