Your life can change in an instant.

My mother's did the day she was walking down the street in Austin, Texas, and the woman beside her was hit by a sniper's bullet. The gunman, the infamous Charles Whitman, killed 16 people on that sweltering summer day. The event made a lasting impact on my mom, and I heard the story many times growing up.

People often ask where I get my ideas. In the case of my new romantic suspense novel, SNAPPED, the inspiration was personal. The story opens on a college campus where the heroine, Sophie Barrett, is caught up in a deadly shooting. As details emerge from the investigation she realizes that this wasn't the random act it appeared to be.
