Judi Hendricks
Dear Librarian,
As a kid, I loved that weird Salvador Dali painting...the one with the melting clocks, The Persistence of Memory. The title still fascinates me. The persistence of the pasthow it shapes the present, and even the future.
Nobody understands that better than Sunny Cooper, the protagonist of THE LAWS OF HARMONY. Most of the time she manages to keep her memories at bayher hippie commune childhood, the freak accident that killed her sister, the subsequent fracturing of her family.
But another accidenttwenty-four years laterand its aftermath will turn her world upside down again and send her on a journey fifteen hundred miles from her native New Mexico.
On San Miguel Island, she finds a certain comfort among strangers, but odd coincidences and old habits continue to haunt her. Ironically, it's an unexpected legacy of the past that leads to a resolution she would never have imagined.
