Dear Librarians,

Ever seen a couple, obviously still in love, hurl down the tracks toward divorce and want to scream for them to stop?

One day I began to see how the dissolution of perfectly wonderful relationships often happens one unkind word and misunderstanding at a time. That's when a fictional couple began to take form in my mind.

Eric convinces his fragile ego he doesn't love his wife because he doesn't think she loves him. Divorce seems imminent when he commits adultery.

But our anti-hero finds he's hung a toe-tag on a marriage still breathing. His wife, Kyra, suffers a concussion and forgets the chasm between them.

When she looks at him, once again, with eyes of adoration, Eric realizes he's never stopped loving her and will do everything in his power to become the man he'd wished he'd been all along.
