Brett King

Dear Librarian,

As a novelist and a psychologist, I love to explore secrets. My debut novel, THE RADIX, tells the story of a relic that has been called the "secret of secrets." For centuries, the Radix has existed in rumor and secrecy. Saints whispered its legend. Alchemists craved its power. Five hundred years ago, it vanished from the earth. History's greatest mystery, lost to the ages.

Until now.

Paleopathologist John Brynstone and his team are the latest in a series of adventurers and researchers who must unravel riddles and ancient mysteries no one has been able to solve for centuries. Brynstone faces competition from the bloodthirsty descendants of Cesare Borgia as well as a nameless assassin. Why? Legend claims the relic has the power to heal or the power to kill.

THE RADIX will appeal to readers who enjoy historical mysteries, adventure, and international suspense. Jeffery Deaver calls it, "Part DA VINCI CODE, part 24, THE RADIX is roller-coaster storytelling at its best." THE FALSE DOOR, the second book in The Radix series, will be released in early 2011.

Finally, thanks for your hard work on behalf of authors. I wrote more than one-third of my debut thriller, THE RADIX, at two public libraries and one university library. I've had a romance with libraries since childhood and I'm honored that my novel has found a home in some of your libraries. Thanks so much for taking a chance on a debut author! Happy reading,

Brett King
