Mameve Medwed

Dear Librarian,

I spent much of my childhood in the reading room of the Bangor Public Library and now have a brick with my name on it in the new wing. I have appeared twice at the MLA convention and also at the PLA annual convention. My publisher always schedules lots of readings at libraries.

I hope you like my fifth novel, a comedy of manners about mothers (and mothers-in-law), children, work and love by "a canny writer with a distinctive voice." (Boston Globe). After reading the manuscript, Anita Shreve wrote, "I LOVED it. I'm amazed at the way you're able to manage all these plots and then have the balls satisfyingly caught by Maisie, who is a terrific character—as is the magnificent September Silver and even the hideous Mrs. Pollock. ...It was a joy. I finished it wanting more."
