That's Steven Creed, the hero of A CREED IN STONE CREEK, the launch book in my 2011 cowboy trilogy that ties together my Creed and Stone Creek series.

Steven brings little Matt to a run-down ranch house in Stone Creek, Arizona. As they work to make the house and barn livable for man, boy and creatures alike, the nearness of family and closeness of community create a new home. Then Steven takes on the pro bono defense of a local teen and meets his match in the opposing counsel—beautiful, by-the-book Melissa O'Ballivan.
