Kyle Mills

Dear Librarian,

I recently visited Africa with the idea of researching a novel and was so fascinated by the place that I ended up living there for a while. The lawless, dangerous edge makes it an ideal setting for a thriller.

I saw first-hand the poverty, disease, and violence plaguing the region, but struggled to find evidence of the billions in aid donated by foreigners. I couldn't help wondering where it had gone.

THE LORDS OF CORRUPTION explores one possibility: That an American crime organization could pose as a charity and quietly partner with one of Africa's brutal dictators. Together, they would be able to divert the goodwill of the world into weapons, drugs, and genocide while being hailed as reformers and humanitarians.

It turned out to be a shockingly profitable and workable scheme. The much more difficult question was how could it be stopped?
