Dear Librarian,
Last year I paid $162.44 in library fees. Not all at one time, but lateness does add up! This year one of my resolutions is to return my library books on time. I love resolutions, every January I make a list and it feels like that little set of carefully bulleted items has the transformative mojo to make over my life, caterpillar into butterfly. That's how my year begins in HOME IS WHERE THE WINE IS. I take myself on as an art project and venture to foreign, exotic lands such as the gym, the spray-tan salon and the weedy, weird world of online dating in Los Angeles (which should come with hazard pay and possibly a supply of those miniature booze bottles they give you on airplanes.)
Ah, if only real life were just like those pink fiction books where the chubby heroine ends up with the Pulitzer and the French Studly McMan. In real life, though, you sometimes discover your blind date is running a pyramid scheme and the gym is germy and your thighs have grown thighs. It's a year of unexpected highs and goofy lows and a lot of laughs in between. HOME IS WHERE THE WINE IS details my adventures, plus a recipe or two and a whole set of wacky knitting and crochet projects like the "Lonely Hearts" Personal Massager Cozy.
This year my resolutions are to return my books on time and never, ever go on another online date.
I hope you enjoy it!
