Judy Rodgers and Gayatri Naraine

Dear Librarian,

In our worldwide search to understand the inner workings of altruism, we humbly discovered that the quality of "something beyond greatness," which we most often attribute to such extraordinary figures as Gandhi, occurs naturally on subway platforms, city streets, and living rooms when people see each other with love and act from the heart. It vanishes, though, when we are thinking, planning or trying too hard to make things happen.

We searched from the presidential palace in India to stories of regular people on the streets of our cities to understand how greatness works. To help make sense of what we were hearing, we called on a man of science, cognitive biologist, Humberto Maturana, and a woman of God – Indian yogi, Dadi Janki, to reflect with us on greatness.

What we found touched our hearts and will touch the hearts of readers. Here's what 7 Habits author Stephen Covey said about SOMETHING BEYOND GREATNESS: "An absolutely amazing book! A transcendent blending / integrating of science and faith yields an inspiring awareness of our power to create greatness through supernal service."

Sincerely,
Judy Rodgers and Gayatri Naraine
