Sue Scheff
Dear Librarian,
WIT'S END: Advice and Resources for Saving Your Out-of-Control Teen is the result of my own harrowing story of having put my out-of-control teenage daughter in a residential treatment facility. The daughter that was returned home to me was broken, depressed and suicidal. In 2001, I founded Parents' Universal Resource Experts, Inc. (P.U.R.E.) – and became a Parent Advocate to fight for the rights and protection of children and to raise awareness and educate parents about the loosely regulated industry of teen help programs. I am currently working with my Florida State Senator and Congresswoman in promoting internet safety and have appeared frequently on national television (20/20, The Rachael Ray Show, ABC News, and CNN to name a few) and been interviewed in USA Today, the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal.
WIT'S END is an indispensable guide for parents who want to be active and empowered participants in their child's therapy, as well as, serving as a cautionary tale that will help parents empower themselves -– and their families -– toward healing.
