Natalie Wexler
Dear Librarian,
Twenty years ago, while working on a history of the early Supreme Court, I came across some 200-year-old letters that were so intriguing I couldn't get them out of my mind.
The letters suggested a dramatic story about the wives of two of the early Justices, but they left many questionsquestions I wanted to find answers to. So eventually I wrote a novel that incorporated the letters, connecting the gaps between them with fictional diary entries in the voices of the two women. Their world was vastly different from ours, but I found I could slip into my characters' skin and experience a direct connection with them. And it seems readers have felt the same way. They've told me they can't put the book down, and one reviewer has declared it "a great book for discussion for a women's readers group." The book has also won a bronze medal from the Independent Publishers Book Awards.
For more information, please visit my website, www.nataliewexler.com. And please write me at natalie@nataliewexler.com to become one of five librarians to win a signed copy of the book. With each copy I'll include an actual quill penjust like the ones my characters used to write the letters that inspired the book. I hope you enjoy A MORE OBEDIENT WIFE, and that you'll recommend it to your library patrons and book groups.
Warmly,
Natalie Wexler
