Dear Librarian, Shortly after I started as editor in chief of Cosmo, I stopped by the photo editor's office to check on a fashion shoot we were doing in South Dakota. If we're lucky, I told him, some buffalo will go running by as we're shooting. "Of course, they will," he announced. "I rented a herd." Wow, I thought. How bold and gutsy. The lesson: sometimes in order to dazzle people, you have to (figuratively at least) rent a herd of buffalo. That's just one of many wonderful tricks I've learned in my eight years at Cosmo.
