Steven Arterburn and Nancy Rue

Dear Reader,

Thank you to you, and all the fiction lovers who read Healing Stones and Healing Waters. It has been a fulfilling surprise to read hundreds of blogs and emails from "fictionados" saying they loved the stories but also, it is deeply moving to read the stories of life change and even healing. I am thrilled that we could have that impact from fiction. And they loved the fact that we did not tie everything up with a nice, neat bow. That we did not.

In both of these novels we addressed issues of legalism, name-it-and-claim-it theology, affairs, self-image and weight. Sullivan Crisp, the therapist who is everything I wish I could be, works with each woman's problems while dealing with his own demons of unresolved grief and loss. He is also on a quest to find Belinda Cox, the inept therapist who was counseling his wife before committing suicide. Some of our readers suggested that Sullivan Crisp might be ready for some romance and it happens in HEALING SANDS.

Sullivan continues to provide insightful counsel as he confronts his most difficult client, photojournalist Ryan Coe, steeped in anger and unaware of the rut she has dug herself into. She is not your typical soccer Mom, but soccer moms come to play a key role in her life. The emails indicate that readers of the first two loved our female characters. If you loved them in the first two, surely you will love Ryan Coe. Hopefully her transformation will inspire others to resolve the anger and rid themselves of bitterness the way Dimitria and Lucia motivated readers to face other problems in books one and two.

HEALING SANDS is the third and final novel in the Sullivan Crisp series. If you want a copy of the new novel, HEALING SANDS we are giving away 20 copies at www.newlife.com so please sign up to win.

If you have any questions or comments I read and respond to my own emails at, sarterburn@newlife.com.

Faithfully,
Steve Arterburn
