Financially ruined and unable to find work, she turns to her childhood friend, Abigail, the daughter her family's former housekeeper, now a well-known TV personality. Trouble is, they haven't spoken to each other in 20 years. Worse, Abigail still harbors resentment over the betrayal that drove a wedge between them. She offers Lila a job all right---that of housekeeper. That's only one of the many twists and turns that kept even me breathless at times while writing DOMESTIC AFFAIRS.
