Phyllis Norton Hoffman

Dear Reader,

I don't know about you, but when I think about significant events in my life, I always remember what shoes I was wearing. Maybe it's a Southern thing, maybe not but in my new book, I explore our most poignant rites of passage and some not so poignant from the feet up, always noting what shoes we were wearing. Some we pick for ourselves and other shoes are selected for us. My book is a glimpse at how shoes are often a metaphor for life which I present with a little humor. Just like life, some of my shoes are beautiful and easy, while others are plain and less enjoyable...sometimes even painful. Each shoe has its purpose in defining different stages of our life. Regardless of the direction your life takes, no matter the shoes you are wearing (even if they pinch), it's almost always possible to draw from your inner strength and succeed.

My book will make you laugh and cry - and inspire you along the way -- because, HONEY, IT'S ALL IN THE SHOES. Write me a short note about an event you remember connected the shoes you were wearing and, if picked, I'll send you one of 10 free books! Send to: kimw@hcibooks.com.
