Dear Reader
If you liked Alice Munro's Runaway, I think you'll like A PERFECT STRANGER: these stories are about the life of the heart. Alice Munro herself said of them: "Start in on any sentence and I'm absolutely sure you'll read to the end of the story, and of the book, and you'll come out of it feeling grateful, deeply stirred, seriously happy."
This book was a NYTBR Editor's Choice, and on the Chicago Tribune's Best Fiction list. One of the stories, "Blind Man," is discussed (and praised) in Joan Didion's extraordinary memoir, My Year of Magical Thinking.
I like the short story form, which I discuss on Backstory at MJ Rose's blog. I talk about writing in general at www.penonfire.blogspot.com.
If you're interested in seeing and hearing me read from this book, I'm on WGBH at forum.wgbh.org I can be reached at www.roxanarobinson.com, and I'd be delighted to talk to book groups, and to do readings in NYC and Connecticut.
Happy Reading,
Roxana Robinson
