Dear Reader,

We all know stories of regular people who, in an instant, act in heroic ways. Some turn their lives over to humanity, and for others it is a moment inspired by the possibility of tragedy.

We wanted to understand what makes people take heroic action and how we might get more of that in our societies. So we went on a search – from the presidential palace in India to stories of regular people on the streets of our cities – and from Luke Skywalker to Faust. To help make sense of what we were hearing, we called on a respected scientist and 93-year-old yogi to reflect with us on greatness.

The journey took us to places we could never have imagined, including deep into the question of what it would mean for us to create communities of greatness. For a chance to win a free copy of the book and a call to your book club, write us at judyrodgers@gmail.com.

We look forward to being in touch,
