Dear Reader, AN OFFICER AND A JUNKIE: FROM WEST POINT TO THE POINT OF NO RETURN is a memoir of my disastrous foray into drug and alcohol abuse. I'm a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a former United States Army Officer. I also took so many mind-altering substances that I initially came to believe I was Frida Kahlo and, ultimately, the Messiah. I have learned the hard way that the perils of addiction have no boundaries. I invite you to send me an original short poem, haiku, cinquain or other creative writing piece on the topic of addiction or addiction recovery, written in your own voice.
