Whenever I visit schools and libraries, someone always asks, "where do writers get their ideas?" I've thought so long and hard about this that I finally wrote a story about it.
ONCE UPON A BABY BROTHER is about a little girl named Lizzie who loves to tell stories and whose pesky brother Marvin keeps getting in her way. When Lizzie's teacher tells the class to create a comic book, Lizzie is delighted that Marvin is away visiting Grandma. But, for the first time, she can't think of a single idea. What's a budding writer to do?
This story has all my favorite things - a little girl who loves to write, a wise and wonderful teacher and a dog. Did I mention Tricia Tusa's fabulous illustrations? They are energetic, funny, but most of all, brimming with love.
