Gayle Brandeis
Dear Librarian,
The library is a second home for both me and my characters. In my new novel, DELTA GIRLS, my character Izzy and her nine year old daughter, Quinn, travel the itinerant farm labor circuit, running from Izzy's past, until they find a tentative sense of home at an organic pear farm in the Sacramento Delta. The one touchstone in their lives is the librarythey stop at a public library in every town they visit as they chase the harvest. Izzy's story alternates with Karen's, an Olympic hopeful pairs skater who becomes increasingly involved with her new partner, an ice prince with a dark streak. These two disparate stories come together when Izzy's past and Karen's future explosively collide.
I am grateful for the support of librarians and look forward to seeing DELTA GIRLS on your shelves. I would love to speak at your library, either in person if I'm in the area, or by phone or Skype. Contact me at gaylebrandeis@gmail.com to make it happen.
Happy reading!
