Home Author Archive For Librarians Authors: Get Included Gayle Brandeis Dear Reader, I was a competitive figure skater when I was young, so it was great fun to revisit the world of ice in my novel, DELTA GIRLS. My character Karen is an Olympics-hopeful pairs skater who gets increasingly involved with her new partner, an ice prince with a dark streak. Meanwhile, my other main character, Izzy, and her nine year old daughter Quinn start to find a tentative sense of home at an organic pear farm in the Sacramento Delta after traveling the itinerant farm labor circuit. The two women's stories unravel until Izzy's past and Karen's future explosively collide.
