Dear Reader,From the time I first visited Lancaster County in 1987, I've been intrigued with the Amish and in particular their pacifism. My father is a World War II vet. My husband served in Afghanistan. Both would say they're happy their service means the Amish can live out their convictions. And I agree. Yet, I've wondered what would happen if a military family moved next door to an Amish family. How would the children interact? What if romance ensued?
