Dear Reader,
If you recognize Fidel Castro’s face in the hologram on the front jacket of HAVANA PASSAGE you’ll have seen the last of him. In this tale he’s gone, and we have a new President in the White House who hastens to preempt another 50 years of Cuban tyranny without unnecessarily arousing Congress or alerting the Cuban Americans in Miami.
She cloaks her private lawyer in secrecy and sends him and his young assistant to Havana to penetrate the fog of intrigue and deceit hovering over Washington, Miami and Havana throughout nine of her Presidential predecessors’ terms in office.
Havana Passage also is a love story amid high adventure on a stage usually left to diplomats and spies. The plot is taken from tomorrow’s history; Conner Omega, Santiago deChristo, and Carlos (the Orphan) Diego probably don’t live on your street.
