Lena Meydan

Dear Reader,

When I started to write this book in 1999, I was seized by the idea of writing about a character who could experience other people's thoughts and emotions. How would that person interact with others without losing his sense of self? Can he really make friends or be able to find love?

And if such a hero is a vampire, how does this change his attitude towards people? Would this make him more human, or less?

This is the appeal of Darel, the protagonist, a vampire whose telepathy and empathy allows him to retain some of his humanity even as it challenges his identity as a vampire. It's symbolic of a classic struggle, and it is these themes that made TWILIGHT FOREVER RISING a best seller in Russia, and that will appeal to audiences around the world.
